Bill needs to keep an eye on the KC kicker battle
because I believe to loser of that battle will be worlds better than Billy Cundiff. Anybody take notice of the young kicker Lawrence Tynes? The guy has been amazing all pre-season for the Chiefs and they say he might end up costing Morten Anderson a job. I'm praying they keep Anderson because Tynes has LOADS more potential than Cundiff. And worst case scenerio has Anderson being cut and we get a reliable vet, which is still a better option, IMO.

I think Matt Bryant should win the job myself. He has shown he is better than Cundiff and has NFL experience. While this other guy from Kansas City has done well so far, Bryant would be my choice.
This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

If Cundiff keep making his kicks he will not have anything to worry about. Cundiff did not have a bad year last season and unless he starts missing his kicks this year I think he will continue to be on the team

Bryant is hurt which is why he did not kick this past game, I doubt Dallas is going to hold a spot for a kicker who is injured. I would tell Bryant to stay by the phone in case we need him but I think he gets cut when the Dallas has to trim the roster this sunday.

Can you not put him on the PUP list? Keep him for six weeks and see how things pan out with Billy.

Damn, rough crowd. The kid hits 23 out of 29 kicks, setting an NFL record to boot (ugh) and single leggedly (heh heh) winning a game for us and y'all want to run him out of town.
I sure hope that J Jones kid never puts the ball on the ground, y'all be asking for his resignation!

Reef, they are to stupid to realize that he is a very good kicker, they just are blinded by the fact that his kicks don't go right down the middle.

I know Bryant is/was hurt and that is why he hasn't played the last couple of games. And I expect him to be cut. But exposing him to the rest of the NFL could cost us as another team could snatch him right up. Maybe the PUP is the best option.

If you participate in training camp, you cannot go to the PUP list.

That clearly could happen but not something you see teams do very often though.

I feel the same way. I think Cundiff did a good job last year and as long as he keeps hitting his FG he will have a job with us. I'm not looking for a guy who can hit a 60 yarder but is inconsistant. I expect a good kicker to be able to make the 45 yard and in consistantly.

Likewise - I don't expect the guy to be putting up probowl numbers but he hasn't lost a game for us yet and has been pretty solid in some pressure situations. I'll take consistency any day of the week.
