I like the old school rap like Eric B and Rakim and PE but 99.9% of the stuff out now days I can't stand.

Ditto.

I come home from work and the Wife has MTV on and the music, not just rap, on there now just irritates me.

It is so generic anymore.

Of course there are always a few rare exceptions but for the most part I just can not even get into most of the music out now.

hip hop is atrocious right now, that being said I still listen to the classics, and occasionally stumble upon some heat. Pretty much, if it's on the radio or on video it sucks. Gimme some classic Heiro or Boot Camp Clique and I'm good.

This past year has actually been a good one for Hip-Hop imo.

Lupe Fiasco's Food And Liquor, Kingdom Come, Hell Hath No Fury, and Hip Hop Is Dead are all very good albums. Probably one of the best years in a while in terms of quality albums but, it still doesn't compare to the classics of the early and mid 90's.

I like the Game's new record : Doctor's Advocate, its not alike alot of the main stream rap. Also DMX's "the year of the dog...again" is very good too

I listen to everything but rap/hip hop and country. But I would be willing to guess that those who do wouldn't like a lot of the stuff that I DO listen to.
