Default That's it... we are going to the Super Bowl!!
I just watched NFL Network's America's Game, which featured the '71 Cowboys as the 15th best Super Bowl team ever. Lost in the shufle is the crazy,controversial, and funny Duane Thomas, who at the end stated that every time there is controversy, the Cowboys win the Super Bowl. He stated, "look at us, look at Jimmy and Jerry"; so know, I am ready to look at that player, that coach, and that pro bowl qb.

There was no controversy in 1977. So that sort of drops that. If you want controversey also look at 2004 with the whole Q mess.

1971 Cowboys....awesome, dominating team... extremely well coached...

2006 Cowboys...picture of mediocrity, one of the worst coached teams in the NFL

one team won it all in dominating fashion, the other will be one and done

I do not think we are even top 10 in worst coaching areas. Too much competition for that award.

I would argue that the talent is not as great as some would think. Spears, Canty, James, etc are not world beaters. I think we have over rated them.

ok fine...if the players are the problem, its an even further indictment of Parcells, because he picked them all

he isnt coaching them up, so if he cant pick good talent what use is he?

I agree with both of you. I think the talent level is not what many think it is and I KNOW the head coach isn't what many think it is.

There is no formula for success except an unconditional acceptance of life and what it brings.

And neither is the Head Coach. He has put together a good team; not a great team but good enough to win in this watered down league. But his coaching has left them flat and underachieving at the end of the year...just like in the past three years.

What are you talking about dbair, don't you know we are going to the Superbowl since Parcells has stepped up or is stepping up to the plate with:

1) an upbeat press conference
2) last regular season game defense gimmicking
3) reinforcement of the yes we suck but still can win in this sucking universe theory
