Thinking about getting one this week or next. They are 600.00. Anyone know of any bugs with these things? Should I hold off for a while or are they good to go now?

you dont have to get the 600 one there is a 500 one if im not mistaken. I would wait, because their is already a rumored price drop to battle MSFT's rumored price drop (that is more reasonable though). I'll find you a link that gives you alot of information about the PS3

I have the $500 version and love it. I have not had any problems with it at all and the only complaints I have seen has to do with lack of Blu-ray playback at 720p and some problems with some PS2 games not looking good.

Both problems are expected to be fixed in the next few months with a firmware update. There are no overheating problems or system failures to the extent that the Xbox 360 had.

The games are obviously lacking right now but will pick up very soon.

I can't put down Fight Night right now...looks amazing.

Get the nintendo Wii instead since it has sold like twice the amount of PS3's

That probably also has to do with the availability of the PS3.

Nope it really has more to with price and the controller. I was just goofing off about the Wii and PS3. Even when Sony gets it's production ramped up the forecast for sales is still lagging behind the Wii forecasted sales.

Sony dropped the ball in this case because the big money is not in the actual sales of the PS3 but in the software. Guess who makes more money because they have more systems out that's right Microsoft and Nintendo.

(That is why Sega dropped their console department when they could not keep up and just makes games now)

I heard the initial shipment of PS3's had some issues, but I can't remeber what specifically they were. Availabilty might be an issue, and as someone mentioned, the game library may be lacking for some time.

The Wii is only popular because of its gimic and family oriented software.

It is basically a repackaged Gamecube with a fancy controller.

thats what i thought, but its addicting, at least the games my brother has are, the wii sports is awesome too, i get so pissed when i'm bowling and i leave only one pin up

PS3's are available everywhere now. They just arent selling well at the moment.

Do you self a favor and get a 360 instead.

Gaming is about the games and the ps3 has nothing going for it in that department.

Your honestly on crack if you think that the PS3 is going down that same road. The 360 did have the same deal when it first came out as well. Heck, there still aren't that many "great" games out there for it.
