The Arizona Cardinals should retire his #40 jersey??

I think it would be a great gesture for very brave & selfless man. His memory should be embrace by all the NFL, it teams, players, & fans.

You know what? I agree that they should, however, the more that is being released about Tillman makes me think that he really wouldn't want it done for some reason.

He was very adamant about the military not mentioning him in any ads and the like. He wasn't your "typical" person.

He never gave any interviews about it, and was always hush-hush about it.

I think Tillman deserves to be honored, but I'm not sure this is the right way. Jersey numbers are retired for play on the field. Tillman was a good player, but not worthy of that honor. Now his play off the field is what was honorable. Maybe they should start a Tillman Foundation or something in his honor to help the families of vets that don't make it back from the war. I think something like that would be more fitting..

I already wrote them earlier today suggesting it. I bet they will. You can pretty much other people will too.

I liv ein AZ and ASU and the Cardinals are the enemy. I still think this guy's story is truly amazing.

I'd like to see a made for TV movie about him with the proceeds going to his widow.

I think it would be more fitting to put him in their equivelent of the ring of honor. What could be more honorable than giving your life for your country.

I really hope this is not taken the wrong way and I mean no disrespect to Pat Tillman , but I wish all of the soldiers who died for this country would receive the same recognition as Pat is getting .They are all Great , Great Heros. They will all be missed ,

I know what you mean roy... I just think it is such a big story because we all knew him indirectly... for people like me and others it really hits home when someone you "know" loses their life for their country...

I think in a way it is honoring all of those over there...

That's my point , why did it take a football player to die before some people realized that this whole thing just sucks . I heard on sports radio today how words like courageous ,brave , and fearless are misused on athletes all of the time and should be used for people like Pat Tillman and the rest of our military for trying to protect us , even if it costs them there lives.

Not taken the wrong way at all, but i disagree to a certain extent. Yes, all soldiers should get recognition for serving this country. Pat's situation affects the sports world though. He was a professional athlete that turned down millions of dollars to go and protect and serve out country. How many people can that be said of. Plus, I haven't really seen too much coverage about this outside of the sports channels. (Then again I haven't really looked much at the News CHannels) I am in now way saying he's a greater loss than any soldier but the man should be honored for his bravery and willingness to serve and protect our country at all costs.

I'm with the people who will honor Pat Tillman, but I also try to honor all of those other people who have died from this country.

The reason Pat Tillman is being mentioned alittle more then any other person that died is because he played in the sports world. He was a "known" name and that it self will give him alittle more attention.

I believe the NFL should give some mention of him this weekend during the draft and at the start of the season. He should also find himself in the Hall Of Fame. While others are out there spending their money from their large contracts he would rather get paid nothing near that to fight for our country. What a real man that is.
