I can't say I'd never root for the Eagles given some hypothetical question (e.g. them actually getting to a SuperBowl against the Patriots)...but this ain't it. I'd give the Patriots their 3 in 4 years and then we can set our sights firmly on 4 in 4 years! Firstest with the mostest in the leastest. That's my motto.

The only eagles I'm interested in or care about are the feathered kind that fly through the sky. Definitely not the pretenders that wear green uniforms and are the poster children in recent years for NFL futility. I have never rooted for an Eagle team, and will not start now.
I could care less about the Patriots. About the only time I had any kind of feeling for them other than complete apathy was when Stingley was paralyzed on that hit by Tatum.
I'm a football fan and I watch the Super Bowl regardless of who plays but that doesn't mean I root for one team over another, unless it's the Cowboys.

In retrospect, I don't like the way it sounds either. I guess I don't actually "root" for another team. But I do hope for a certain outcome which I feel best benefits the Cowboys. Hmmm...now I'm confused...

i will probably have my member rights revoked for this but... as much as i hate the eagles - and i truly hate them - i want the NFC east to represent. last year i pulled for GB against them because i empathized with favre and the loss of his father and he's closing out a brilliant career. but i usually pull for the NFC east rep. yes, even the redskins. call me crazy. but the eagles are still chokers.

Wow, I didn't think ANY Cowboy's fan would ever say this.
I will never cheer for the Eagles. I revel in the fact that they have never won a SB, and I hope they never do. The only thing sweeter than Dallas winning another Lombardi Trophy, is another year gone by and the Eagles still have an empty spot on their trophy stand.

I'm about as diehard a Cowboys fan as you'll find, and it's not easy being one in Giants country. Don't get me wrong - I hate the Eagles. I wouldn't be jumping up and down if they won the SB, but when your team has done things that no other team in history has done (3 SBs in 4 years), it's special. I will be rooting against the Eagles all year long, but if this particular situation were to arise I'd have to root for the Patriots to lose. Our history blows the Eagles' history away so I could live with them have 1 little Lombardi. If you look at the poll, although Eagle hatred is obvious and justified (Irvin situation, and a division rival), there are more than a couple of people that would also root for the Patsies to lose. I just thought it would be interesting to see how many fans place more importance on records vs. hatred of a team and vice-versa.

Look I may have have been venting about some of the other C'boy comments. But realistically, Eagles fans don't give a crap if the entire NFL roots against them or not!
I may have been acting somewhat of a jacka$$ in my last post. I'm not trying to bust your chops--I apologize to you. :o
However, most C'boy fans (not all!) seem to have adopted the attitude ...all for the C'boys -- forget about the NFC!

NE....they can be respected, and while they are the current dynasty if there is one, I don't hate them for it like I did SF or GB when there was talk of a dynasty...it's hard not to like NE, imo.
I would never in a million years root for Philly or Washington in a Super Bowl or any playoff game...I'd root for anyone else.

Anyone who picks the Eagles has to have their sanity checked!
Are you sure you're an actual Cowboys fan? Do you realize who the Eagles are?
Who cares how many SB's the Patriots win? They're not even on my radar screen.
This question is laughable.
