Need Production from D tonight
http://www.nfl.com/teams/depthcharts/DAL
Our front 4 has done almost nothing. Chad Eaton has more tackles than most starters. Need sacks and forced fumbles.
Dex and Al S have 4 tackles. Bradie James has 9. He needs more PT.
Look for Kalen Thorton and Shanle to continue to be on field more.
Roy needs to be more in the box, not 30 yards downfield chasing WR's.

I agree, and it looks like roy can be in the box with brunnell starting.

Throw everything at Brunnell. Gibbs is going to try and grind us with Portis.

I can see Gibbs throwing in a lot more screen passes/ short dumps to Cooley to take pressure off of the running game. If the rain comes like it is supposed to, that may be the kind of game your O is forced into as well. Is Eddie up to the challenge?

The reason James has nine is that teams key on him and run at him.

Yep... Brunell has no arm anymore. Shouldn't have to worry about the deep ball.

It's pretty hard to put Roy in the Box when the Coaches (Parcells and Zimmer) have little faith in Hunter being able to cover by himself nor if Dixon will be in the right spot to make a play. If Hunter can develop, as so many here seem to be sure he will do, then Roy will be allowed to wreak more havoc and be the playmaker he is capable of being. If the RCB is considered a weakness AND the other safety is below average, then Newman and Williams will have to "play it safe" to cover for the deficiencies elsewhere in the secondary.

The Redskins' counter play can hurt us
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>
The Redskins' counter play (Excerpt From DMN)
This is Washington's signature play. RB Clinton Portis takes a false step to the left or right, depending on the direction of the play, and waits for a pulling tackle and guard to open up a big hole for him. The Cowboys are a fast, aggressive defense, especially at linebacker, and these plays are designed to take advantage of those types of defenses.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< <<<<<<
It is with this counter play that the Skins can do some damage on us. If successful, this play can establish their running game. In our first two games this season, quite often our front 7 have been out of position, and if we continue that vs. the Skins then they will run on us quite easily - killing us with that counter play. And if that happens it will open up their whole offense.
By staying in their gaps is how our D-front-seven can help control this game. The Skins WRs don't scare me. So if I'm Zimmer, I play man-up on their wideouts with singel-safety help on the strong side; I have our front 4 play gap assignments (i.e. hold their lanes and don't overpersue or over-rush the QB); I have our linebackers cover underneath zones and use the other safety (i.e. Roy Williams) to come up in the box for the running game (i.e. shield Portis wherever he goes) and be the blitzer on sure passing downs (I would interchange safeties and linebackers for this). This scheme will shut down the Redskins offense - because it will shut down their counter play, thus hindering their running game - and win the game for us.

Oh how I love game day. In theory any of us could caoch these teams to victory. I just hope for a great game with no injuries and of course a Redskins win.
The Redskins O is not just the Counter trey. after seven games played I would think some of you would have realized that by now.

Ah you are correct...however as far as the regular season goes...the counter trey was the play that gained Portis his longest run (and besides that run he has only averaged around 3.4+ Yards per carry).

Definitely. I agree as well. Portis needs to be put in situations with screen passes and sweeps because of his speed on a more frequent basis.
I am so amped for this game already cracking open a tasty beverage. Hopefully towards celebration instead of drunken misery.
