Man, 81, drops gun in synagogue; three shot - Dallas Cowboys Forum

DALLAS — An 81-year-old man accidentally dropped a handgun during Rosh Hashanah services at a temple, and the weapon shot his daughter in the foot and injured two other people.

Marvin Marks accidentally dropped the gun when he stood up at the synagogue Wednesday evening, police said. The bullet struck his 42-year-old daughter, who was hospitalized with non-threatening injuries. Two other people suffered minor scrapes from the bullet.

Police said Marks was licensed to carry the gun.

Calls to police seeking further details weren't immediately returned Thursday.

It's morons like this guy that will make it where INTELLIGENT gun carriers will suffer from new laws preventing you from carrying a gun.

And my gf now tells me they're trying to pass a law making it illegal to shoot someone who breaks into your home.

I can tell you right now, law or no law, if someone breaks into my house. I'm going to kill him and I won't think twice about it. That criminal will be D-E-A-D DEAD.

I never knew things were so rough during Rosh Hashanah that you had to go to the temple strapped.

81 years old- and that careless? Wonder if he was going senile or something. Obviously did not have it in a holster. I can understand wanting to carry a weapon if you are in a bad area. But then again the Va Tech shooting was supposedly in a GUN FREE ZONE.
