To many jokes can be made of this

http://www.wusa9.com/sports/sports_a...?storyid=62902

WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA)--The Washington Redskins are hosting a special prostate health screening event Saturday at FedExField starting at 11 a.m.

September is Prostate Health Awareness Month. Health officials will be screening several hundred men.

In addition, veteran QB Joe Theismann will appear from 3-4 p.m. The locker room will be opened for tour.

Below is a full description:

WHAT: In recognition of September as Prostate Health Awareness Month, the Washington Redskins, GlaxoSmithKline, Men’s Health Network and American Urological Association Foundation are carrying out a unique screening event in the locker rooms at FedExField to encourage men to be proactive about their prostate health.

Participating men will receive free prostate specific antigen (PSA) tests and optional digital rectal exams (DRE) in the Redskins locker room.

WHO: Men, ages 40+

WHEN: Saturday, September 15, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

WHERE: Redskins Locker Room, FedExField, Landover, MD

WHY: In 2006, 4.7 million men 40+ were diagnosed with Enlarged Prostate (EP) and 244,000 men were diagnosed with prostate cancer.

An annual prostate health exam and screening can diagnose both of these serious medical conditions, which if diagnosed

I think that's really freaking cool, actually.

Kudos to the Redskins for this.

I disagree about the mobile unit.

Hell, I'd take it one step further and do this during the off-season and have autographs available to participating men.

Prostate exams are a really serious issue, and while none of us like getting them done, they're an extremely important procedure. Now considering that the NFL might be the most influential institution to men 25-65 in this country, I think it's a great marriage.

I think that would be an extremely judicious use of the NFL and it's team's sway over men.
