There are more than 1,700 players in the NFL, "dude." That site often is wrong about contract details, which obviously means they're "not always" correct. Or, they're not always correct, which means they're often wrong. What percentage it is, I have no idea, because I'm not going to go through the entire league and check every player. But the first few I clicked on were wrong, and that was enough for me.

If you want information that's not always correct, knock yourself out.

Was trying to help a fellow member out dude.

If you know a better site we can check out for this type of info please let us know.

Where is it that you get all of your very accurate info anyways?

I'm dying to know how wrong that site is dude. :/

    Thanks in advance dude.

Adam, what salary did Nate Jones get when he got signed back? I am interested in whether JJ went for the money savings or the 'treats players well' full amount.

Jones reportedly got the minimum amount he could (a $510,000 base salary -- or $450,000 over the final 15 weeks). I should be able to verify that tomorrow or Friday.

While I appreciate the thought, KD, I came to Adam with the request because I've known him a long time, and know his info to be accurate. I don't deal in the "most of the time" correct info that most open websites give, as it leaves too much to guesswork. Adam won't say it if he doesn't know it. But if he says it, book it.

And thanks, Adam. I'll look forward to it.

    per DMN blog

    Some money matters
When the Cowboys re-signed Nate Jones on Wednesday, they actually saved some money. Jones was on the books originally for $850,000 as a restricted free agent, but when he was brought back he was re-signed at the four-year minimum of $510,000, according to NFLPA figures.

Jones went from making $50,000 per week ($850,000/17 weeks) to $30,000 per week ($510,000/17 weeks). If Jones sticks around for the rest of the year, he'll make $420,000.

Also, whenever Tank Johnson is allowed to play, he will make $30,000 a game. If it's eight games, then he will make $240,000 for the season, but he might be paid for the bye week as well, which would up that total to $270,000.

Update (9/21/07) -- Jones signed for a $510,000 base salary, as was reported. But contrary to Todd Archer's blog post above, Jones will get $450,000 more (15 weeks), not $420,000. He made $100,000 in the first two weeks. Also, Pete Lougheed (a camp body OT) received an injury settlement of $22,353. With Tank Johnson counting against the cap for only eight games, we are $12,719,432 under the cap. If Johnson's suspension gets lifted early, it'll cost us an extra $30,000 per week.

Here's the cap room for every team --

    Jacksonville $17.254 million
    TampaBay $16.717 million
    Indianapolis $13.991 million
    Kansas City $13.096 million
    Dallas $12.719 million
    Green Bay $11.975 million
    Buffalo $11.873 million
    Seattle $10.787 million
    Tennessee $9.501 million
    New Orleans $9.330 million
    Oakland $9.296 million
    Carolina $9.087 million
    N.Y. Jets $8.595 million
    Philadelphia $8.503 million
    Miami $8.011 million
    Cleveland $7.108 million
    San Francisco $6.070 million
    New England $5.792 million
    Atlanta $5.775 million
    St. Louis $5.497 million
    Denver $5.206 million
    San Diego $4.305 million
    Baltimore $3.929 million
    Arizona $2.478 million
    Minnesota $2.140 million
    Pittsburgh $2.074 million
    Detroit $2.054 million
    Cincinnati $1.913 million
    Houston $1.828 million
    Washington $1.811 million
    N.Y. Giants $1.270 million
    Chicago $0.903 million

Ok, lets bite the bullet. We sign Romo for 7 years, 80 million. $25 million signing bonus. Or are we restricted to 6 years now? Or is that only for Rookies? One really bad thing about russels contract is that Romo should and almost certainly will get a bigger signing bonus, so it might go to 26 or 27.
Or if possible will Jerrah go for a 10 year deal to spread it out more?
What would the cap hit look like?
