Especially one who is barely 6'1" … he won't be able to see over the OL!

Then we're pulling a Washington and going QB again in RD4? No thank you, Jerry Jones.

Srsly tho, Janis and Lokombo are two favorites.

Mewhort, I didn't dislike what I saw on the field but I don't know…isn't a prospect that I find super exciting. Kind of view him as an overachiever with a pretty low ceiling. If we were to group him with more recent draft prospects, he'd be inline with guys like Kevin Zeitler / Mitchell Schwartz / Anthony Castonzo types. There's no real potential to hit it out of the park with him and have a dominant line. The best you'll get is a technician who never does anything bad but doesn't really dominate anyone either. I'm fine with that kind of prospect in day 3, but not mid RD2.

And how many gingers do we need in Dallas. They don't do well in the Texas sun.

I hope Donald is there for us at #16. I really like the Murray and Janis picks. I love Murray but not before round 4 considering the injury.

Not gonna lie, I would be pretty disappointed if that was our draft.

ok fine....Jeffcoat is a situational pass rusher at best in a 4-3. He would need to add 10+ lbs and get a lot stronger before being to be affective in our scheme. So other than him a few snaps a game and Donald he really didn't address the defense much at all. Its nice to think that the 7th round picks are going to help, but realistically they aren't going to play the 1st year.....if ever. Switch out Jeffcoat for a more traditional 4-3 end and replace the mediocre QB for a DT, FS or LB and I would like it a lot more.

I am in agreement too early for QB of that quality and lots of good ILB/OLB/DE available, Janis is also a favorite of mine and he can be had in the sixth or seventh rd. Jeffcoat is way down on my list as a guy with all the talent but never seems to get the job done. All these guys listed below IMO push for a spot on the final game day roster not practice squad.

    Think
Chris Smith DE/ Marcus Smith DE/ Jeremiah Attaochu DE
Will Sutton DT(I know you do not like him)/Kelcy Quarles DT/ Dom Easley DT/ DaQuan Jones DT
Yawin Smallwood ILB/ Kyle Van Noy OLB/Jeremiah Attaochu OLB(relentless motor)
You still have time to include Terrance Brooks for FS help

the last 3 are the estimated conditional picks we will more than likely recieve. If we recieve none of the conditional picks then I would go Lokombo, Smith & Neal.

I would really like to put Marcus Smith or Jeremiah Attaocu in place of Jeffcoat I just dont believe they will be around in the 3rd. what I was really getting at was just the best Leo type DE available in the 3rd. Additionally I agree Janis could be had in the 6th but probably not the 7th & unfortunatley we do not have a 6th round pick & I really like Janis so I bumped him up to the 5th.
aside from the dislike of Jeffcoat but agreeing on needing a DE there & prefering to take a defensive player in the 4th instead of a QB is there anything else you do not like about my current mock as far as positional or even player quality or draft ranking?.....btw I love Quarles if we couldnt get donald in the 1st I would pray for Kelcy in the 2nd. praaaaayyyyy

    16) Dallas Cowboys – Aaron Donald – DT Love this pick

2nd round 48) Jack Mewhort – OT/OG – Ohio st. Don't hate this pick but don't love it. I'm fine with a RT or OG but just not a big fan of Mewhort

3rd round 79) Jackson Jeffcoat - DE Don't think guy is all that good. Would be a back up roational player IMO. SHould be better players availble in the 3rd than Jeffcoat. This would be reaching for need.

4th round 110) Aaron Murray – QB - Georgia I hate this pick, JIMO I think drafting a QB to sit on the bench for 3 years is a waste. Especially Murray

5th round 147) Jeff Janis – WR Saginaw Valley I like this pick. I would rather see a WR taken sooner but this guy could be a steal.

I don't really care about 7th round picks.
    7th round 207) Boseko Lokombo – OLB - Oregon

    7th round 210) Garrison Smith – DT - Georgia
    7th round 215) Tenny Palepoi -1DT - Utah

7th round Spencer Long – OG - Nebraska

7th round Rajion Neal - RB Tennesee

7th round Marcel Jensen – TE Fresno St.

see you were looking for a DE only in the 3rd. Why? Look for the best player that can help us the most. There should be a OL, OLB or WR that could do more for us in the 3rd round than reaching for Jeffcoat just so you can say we drafted a DE.

I don't see Barr falling to 25. I also won't see us passing on Barr either.

    4) Cleveland – Derek Carr – QB
    5) Oakland – Teddy Bridgewater – QB
I don't see Carr before Bridgewater.

    12) Buffalo – Greg Robinson – OT
I don't see any chance that Robinson falls this far. Physically, he is a near perfect specimen at OT. He has Tyron Smith type athleticism at 332 lbs.

    13) St. Louis – HaSean Clinton-Dix - FS
I'm skeptical that he gets drafted this early.

    16) Dallas Cowboys – Aaron Donald – QB
This is the most logical pick; although, I think he would be available later if the Cowboys don't take him at #16.

    25) San Diego* - Anthony Barr – OLB
I don't see him falling this far. This draft is just too short on super quick twitch type pass rushers.

    26) Cleveland – Lewan Taylor - OT
I don't see any chance he falls this far unless it's for character reasons in which case he would probably fall further.

    31) Denver* - Travis Swanson – C
Maybe, but I'm skeptical. I'm not even certain that he's the best Center. Marcus Martin looks like he'll be a starter from day 1.

    2nd round 48) Jack Mewhort – OT/OG – Ohio st.
Too early for this player. I'm skeptical that he can play LT in the NFL.

    3rd round 79) Jackson Jeffcoat - DE
If a big school player with good measurables falls this far, there is probably a reason to be concerned. I'm afraid that he's one of those soft Mack Brown players.

    4th round 110) Aaron Murray – QB - Georgia
I think he would have been a 3rd rounder at best if healthy. This is about the earliest that I see him getting picked.

I do like the idea of an injured QB. They can put him on IR and not waste a roster spot carrying 3 QBs.

5th round 147) Jeff Janis – WR Saginaw Valley
Good pick. He is big and fast.

    7th round 207) Boseko Lokombo – OLB - Oregon
Good pick if available. I like this player. He could easily go earlier.

    7th round 210) Garrison Smith – DT - Georgia
    Good pick.

    7th round 215) Tenny Palepoi -1DT - Utah

I need to watch some game footage of him.

7th round Spencer Long – OG - Nebraska
Very good pick if available. I really think that he will get drafted earlier despite the injury. I think he would have had a shot to start as a rookie if not for the injury.

7th round Rajion Neal - RB Tennesee
7th round Marcel Jensen – TE Fresno St.
What do you like about these 2 players?

I dont want to draft Mewhort as a LT I want to draft him as a RT (im also cool with drafting a Leo DE i n the 2nd & a RT in the 3rd, Kam Fleming maybe?)
Rajion Neal looks like a nice change of pace back on film & would be a nice deal in the 7th as far as RB's go. He cuts well & has pretty good hands.
Marcel Jensen - It really hurt me to draft a TE at all but with Dallas not restructuring Witten it worries me about how much longer he may be here. Jensen is a better Blocking TE than we have in Esco or Hanna & he also has pretty good hands. He was also used as an Hback a little bit at fresno I believe. Really this all comes down to me worrying about Wittens future with the Team, Hanna's development as a TE & the fact I looked at Linehen's past rosters & he hasnt carried a FB on the roster since his 1st year with the Rams i believe which was some time ago.

Do you have a problem with these two players or are you just inquiring my thoughts on them?
