I tried to be balanced in position selection and match with names we have brought in. Happy over all but disappointed in not getting a DE.

Round 1 Pick 16: Aaron Donald, DT, Pittsburgh
Round 2 Pick 15: Jimmie Ward, SS, Northern Illinois
Round 3 Pick 14: Paul Richardson, WR, Colorado
Round 4 Pick 19: Trai Turner, OG, LSU
Round 5 Pick 18: Kevin Pierre-Louis, OLB, Boston College

    That's not a bad effort.

Depending upon how things turn, the Cowboys may not be able to get a DE.

not bad, would address a lot of holes

I am not big on a safety in this class, so I might give up ward for a DE, but of all of the safeties, I like him and Pryor...

I like all 5 players, but agree it would be pretty disastrous to not land a DE.
But you take what the draft presents

I like everyone but Richardson. I have read where he can be lazy, but I could be wrong. Also would love to have DE in there but good job.

After reading some scouting reports on him, I was wrong. He would be good in this offense. My apologies.

yeah I was about to say they usually don't make lazy players captain.

Speaking of that, I noticed a lot of the players we had in for official visits were team captains. Seems to be a trait we look for.

I'm fairly certain that Ward won't make it to the Cowboys 2nd round pick and Turner is doubtful to make it to the 4th round.

yeah I really wish I could have shown how the draft played out in this one I didn't have to move at all and nothing that was happening seemed too unreasonable. Bridgwater fell and the jags moved up from the second to late first to get him, dee ford went top of the second. There was a run of DEs at the top of the 2nd that pushed ward to me and then a run of DTs that went late 3rd to early 4th and turner just kept sliding so I said sweet and took him. In the 3rd there were no DEs worth taking left so I took Richards there. It just all kind of worked out.

all in all I kind of think this might be close to what our draft looks like even if the spots aren't right.

Maybe you was thinking of Santeal (sp?) Richardson, the OT from Miami.

Unfortunately, the mock simulators are wildly unrealistic. It was fun at first, but the rankings have not been updated or tightened up much as we get closer to the draft.

It's kind of killed the original idea of a mock which was an attempt to determine which players were realistic options for a team.

That is who I was thinking of. The draft can't get here soon enough.
