"A wide discrepancy was reported in the 40-yard dash times today, as the NFL Network widely reported several very fast times for players, while members of the National Combine Service, who runs the event for the league, released times that were much slower across the board."

As per that site jterrell posted. Just thought it was interesting. I thought those 40 times seemed awful fast.

I think the NFL Network has started putting more emphasis on the "unofficial" thing because of this.

The NFL network and a lot of outlets are running with hand times.
As noted the electronic times are slower, but accurate.

The Mathis kid was hand timed at 4.25. Electronic was 4.32 (that is FAST)

I believe that only the top 5 per position were released?
Anyone have link to all official results - that would be awesome.

Not to pile on Clarett, but its possible his official times are probably in the mid 4.85 to 4.90 range!

    *cough* Randall Williams *cough* ;)

That is un-real type quickness to have a LEGIT time in that range. Hopefully he has some type of athletic ability to show for it though.
