and why shoudn't he CC, hes worked very hard on breaking this country.
Are you seriously deriding the president for going to the G20 Summit?
Are you kidding, he hasn't even broken a sweat yet. Just wait and see what else he does.
501,don't leave out the teleprompter....
Let's see what the UK press says about what they see...after all,they don't get a tickle up their leg when they hear him.
Kind of what I was wondering.
How is this any different than any other ex-presidents? Seriously, i don't know so i'm asking.
Unless this is a big diparture from how other presidents conducted themselves, why is this even worth posting?
I don't know how dependable it is but here is a link with some info on GW's entourage..
President George W. Bush's travel entourage, complete with:
* 250 secret service agents
* 200 representatives from other U.S. departments
* 150 National Security Advisors
* 50 White House political aides
* 15 dog sniffer teams
* 5 personal chefs
* 2 Boeing 747-200's
* 2 motorcades of 20 armored vehicles
* 1 chartered jumbo jet
* 1 Sikorsky Sea King helicopter
* 1 Black Hawk helicopter
* 1 limousine
From my understanding most presidents travel with a personal contingent of 200-250 people. That includes advance personnel, personal staff and security. Unless they are going to an area where it is deemed more appropriate to bring more people, for security reasons, they shouldn't go over 300 from what I was told.
When Bush came to PA a few years back and I was involved with arranging some of event, that was the number we had. There were approximately 50 advance people that came in prior to his visit.
That is why this was worth posting.
Yeah, because traveling to PA and traveling overseas for a highly-visible, protester-magnet event are EXACTLY alike.
I'm pretty sure there's a lot more people in Obama's entourage that we DON'T know about as well. Ditto for Bush's.
Obama shouldn't need any secret service...
I thought he was going to make the world love us .
Wheres the ninja henchmen. No love for the ninjas. For a peaceful man, he sure knows people are out to get him.
Undoubtedly there are probably hundreds more that no one knows about. Who cares?
I don't understand how anyone could be mad at this.
Oops nothing. I know what Bush traveled with and there were nowhere close to that number.
Now maybe it IS different with foreign travel, I'm sure there is some additional personnel. I was going on what I know. And if I am wrong on foreign travel, then I'm wrong.
Who the hell is mad?
Reuters is running a story on the Obama administration’s new federally subsidized counseling services/referrals for those suffering from depression related to the economy. As usual, the government’s prescription for pain is…more government. The economic psychology guide was developed with help from the Departments of Labor, HUD, Treasury, and GSA.
From the SAMHSA.gov website:
Economic turmoil (e.g., increased unemployment, foreclosures, loss of investments and other financial distress) can result in a whole host of negative health effects - both physical and mental. It can be particularly devastating to your emotional and mental well-being. Although each of us is affected differently by economic troubles, these problems can add tremendous stress, which in turn can substantially increase the risk for developing such problems as:
Compulsive Behaviors (over-eating, excessive gambling, spending, etc.)
It is important to be aware of signs that financial problems may be adversely affecting your emotional or mental well being –or that of someone you care about. These signs include:
Lack of Sleep/Constant Fatigue
Illicit drug use, including misuse of medications
Difficulty paying attention or staying focused
Apathy - not caring about things that are usually important to you
Not being able to function as well at work, school or home
Well, yeah, I’ve been pretty damned irritable — from paying for the bazillion-dollar bailout bonanza, porkulus, TARP crap, GIVE/SERVE Trojan Horse, S-CHIP health care Trojan Horse, etc. etc. etc.
Generational Theft makes me cry:
Sorry, mad is probably not the right word.
How about care?
How can anyone care?
Because form what I knew it seemed excessive. But as I said, if this is the norm, then I am wrong and so be it.
