Adrian Peterson: Hit in backfield 51 times in 2012 but gained 69 yds on those plays. Rest of NFL? -1,206 yds on such plays #APfacts

Maybe I'm missing something. What is this stat supposed to tell me?

Yeah I think your stats are missing something to make the comparison relevant.

His ability to gain yards after contact. It's a viable measurement of a RB's value and yes that stat is sick.

AD is the best rb in the NFL, it's a shame he's stuck on the Vikings.

That the one time that he wasn't tackled for a loss, he ran it 99 yards giving him a net positive of 51 yards. :laugh2:

btw, the second stat that says -1,206, doesn't tell you how many attempts that is. I'm going to guess many of those are sacks.

Sacks aren't counted as rush plays in the NFL.
