My highest was Romney at 37.

I didn't really pay much attention to the others. They all dropped of considerably after Romney

No one scored big with me apparantly: Gravel, Richardson, Edwards, Clinton went in order in the 26-23 range. Romney and Tancredo were at -32 and -31 for the bottom.

My highest was Thompson (19), followed by Biden  (15), then followed by Ron Paul(14) and Guilliani(13). Obama was the only other candidate in double digits (10).

That "poll" was complete BS, as if leaves out so many issues why people vote for President and mainly left in a "are you pro or anti Iraq war" feeling. Okay, so I'll play. Here are my results:

    Giuliani 39
    Romney 38
    Hunter 29
    Thompson 24
    Tancredo 23
    McCain 20
    Huckabee 11
    Dodd 10
    Biden 10
    Clinton 9
    Cox 8
    Edwards 6
    Obama 2
    Brownback 1
    Richardson -4
    Paul -16

One of the Issues is "torture"

    :laugh2:

    What the heck????

    Dumbest poll ever.

It wants to make you believe that some candidates support torture.

    :banghead:

that's one of the reasons it's total BS. I'm willing to bet the socialist who created the poll thinks anyone who is arrested is tortured. I'm still waiting to see or read any quotes from any of the candidates who claim to support torture. :lmao2:

If you want to have a torture thread, you should start up one independantly. I certainly pay a lot of attention the candidates' views on it. One of the places where McCain gets high marks from me. Your mileage, as they say, may vary...

"When a nation moves from denying torture publically while practicing it occasionally, to having a written practice endorsing it, we've taken a large step towards a much darker place."

So you think some of the candidates support torture?

    :laugh2:

We are talking about the ridiculous poll ..... if you do not like it go somewhere else.

Yes, it came up in the debates.

On the republican side only McCain and Dr. Paul would come out and say they oppose the use of torture.

The other candidates went into their typical empty rhetoric while refusing to directly answer the question.

similar results... I'm going to have to start listening to Kucinich more often. Both polls show him as the candidate who shares the most similar views as I. But I'm stubbornly stuck on Gravel.

Gravel and and Kucinich in 2008?

I'll just post my top two because there is a decent dropoff afterwords...

    Kucinich 26
Guns - Background Checks, Minimum Wage Increase, Universal Healthcare

    Gravel 24
    Universal Healthcare

Unfortunately, I have about the same chance of winning the democrat nomination as both of them.

If the public would just take note of the situation in Cowboyland and elect an underdog as the leader of the ship, I think that this country would see great things in regards to change.

I would support other candidates, in the Presidency, if my primary one didn't get the votes to proceed. And as the race goes on, I may be forced to do so. But as of now, I'll keep my top 3 as Gravel, Kucinich and Paul. . .

I think from an integrity standpoint that we actually have something of substantial consideration with these candidates; not so much with the rest.:

How about this: you and I vote for them; and then we see what happens from there. History has shown (see Clinton's surge) that candidates can rise up the ladder as the hands of time tick by.

It's important to note the speculation and media hype before the actual debates in regards to certain candidates (bias) and then realize that anything can happen. All it takes is a man who can get his philosophy across to enough people to actually vote for him....

(Of course, then we're left with the whole electoral college issue (which is unconstitutional imo) and the vote counting thing.)

    ======

By the way, you can donate money to Gravel. And depending on what state that you're in, a significant impact could be made with as little as $20.

He needs donations of less than $250 that equal to $5,000 from 20 states to get Federal dollars to match him and his campaign contribution.
