yeah central CA. fishing in the Cal aqueduct
So what brought you to the thread?
This is the other thing you may want to someday understand. Different people have different ways they like to spend their leisure time. It looks like you like to troll the internet during your leisure time. Others may like to relax with nature, and just relax. Many are happy with the fishing trip even if they don't catch anything. You might want to look up the difference between fishing and trolling sometime.
What makes anyone do anything, because he can.
I fish quite a bit, the best advice I can give: Don't waste money on lures. You'll always be more successful with live bait IMO.
As far as stripers go, the winter is the best time to catch them, and particularly in deep water. We have 30-50 lb stripers caught regularly in the lake around here. They are usually caught in deeper water near a dam.
As far as Catfish go, obviously they are the vacuums of the water. They aren't picky and you can catch them with just about any type of bait. I've heard of people using rolled up balls of soap but havn't tried that personally.
This guy cracks me up he did a fishing show these are some bloopers.
Trolling is the lazy way of fishing. So, yes you can.
Fishing is so much part of Bay Area living. It's funny to hear a Vancouver guy say city people don't do it. I take it they go riot in the city of Vancouver for entertainment city boy style.
I resemble that remark.
Fish on!
got alot of fishing done the past 2 weeks. caught 3 keepers. alot of small fish. switched to sardines f from anchovies. stripers seem to like it. them blood worms to me seem to be a waste of money.
These are my last 4 catches. Fishes arent real big around here at the moment. But the fish are about to make their run any time now. So hopefully it picks up. These are 3 stripers and 1 wide mouth bass. Stripers were between 18-21 inches. That wide mouth was 23 1/2
Fish on! Glad to see you are having success. :starspin
/Also glad you figured out the blood worms are a waste.
Out of curiousity, what did you catch the bucket mouth on?
Nice my dude. Thats a place id love to fish.
One of these bad boys. But a 1 1/2 oz
Thanks im getting hooked bad lol. I take my pole and tackle box with me to work and sneak off after virtually everyday. Today after work i went and bought a little frabill. Its a container that comes with a pump to circulate air for live minnows. Took me less than 1 minute to get a catch. Its the last striper in the pictures. And yeah i just gave my friend the remaining blood worms i had and he acted like i gave him gold lol. They work but IMO not any better than any other bait.
Two more fish today
One hanging is 19 1/2 inches and the other is 23. Alot of BBQ fish this weekend. Already marinating
