Maybe cruel, but does anyone else kind of hope he fails in Jax?
I honestly don't hope LR fails in Jacksonville. Never entered my mind to think that way. Wasn't Laurent's fault he was a free agent. It was all about the way his deal with the Cowboys was structured.
Seems clear he performed well above and beyond what was expected of him going into last season. He said he wanted to stay with the Cowboys, if possible. He gave the 'Boys right of first refusal, as far as the decision to match his best free agency offer, from what I understood.
The Jags offered a big contract based on Laurent's having turned in a great performance last year ... one very good year. The Cowboys chose not to match the Jags' contract offer, or even counter it as far as I know.
LR left having given us his best and with no hard feelings. I wish him all the best.
LR was an asset to our team last season and he didn't cause any issues with the team so I hope he continues to play well and have a great career. He made a business decision on a first big contract of his career so no one should fault him for that.
he had a big year due to injuries of our other receivers--has always had the potential to be a good receiver--i hope he does well to our benefit: helps beat teams I don't like
Nope.... I hope he does well but I don't expect much because Jax is more than likely going to suck!
No. He did what he had to do, anyone would have done the same.
Hell no. I only wish him the best. I'm sure he would have hung around if the money on offer was close.
Hope nothing but the best for Laurent. He may become the next Jimmy Smith.
I agree. I understood the Cowboys view of not wanting to pay out big on a 3rd wr and I understand Robinson situation as player in the NFL where you only have so much time to make money. I know Robinson wanted to stay but in the end he did what was best for him. I hold no grudge and thankful for his play last season
Nope I wish him well
I wholeheartedly agree. I hope he goes on to have a great career. Yeah it sucks that it won't be with us but that's the breaks. Were we supposed to dump Austin or Bryant in order to keep him? I don't think anyone wanted that so he left and I hope he does well. He certainly did us well for the year he was here.
NO, he was a street free agent, worked his butt off, learned the system, got a chance and made himself into a pretty good number two receiver and finally got recognized on the free agent market with a long term deal for his work...I hope for guys like that, not loathe them!!
I can't say it matters much to me how he does now that he's not playing in Big D. He worked well within the Cowboys' system and it remains to be seen if he'll do the same in Jacksonville. It's possible that he may have traded success for the big bucks and that's the gamble he's taken. It's hard to fault him for looking out for himself in that manner, though. It's a business. Whatever occurs, he'll only have himself and his decision to question if things don't pan out for him in the longrun. No hard feelings here, though.
Why would any Dallas fan hope Robinson fails? Because he signed a deal he simply couldn't refuse? He played extremely well for us last year. I appreciate that and hope he has a fantastic season. To hope otherwise is just juvenile.
Things could be rough in Jacksonville given their situation at QB.
Yeah, it's been said before and I agree: catching passes from Blaine Gabbert, or Chad Henne, isn't likely to be the same as from Tony Romo. At least Robinson will have had an entire offseason and camps to make a chemistry connection, as best he can.
Again, best wishes to Laurent as a Jax Jag.
Agreed. Laurent will realize the value of a good QB. He may be labeled a FA bust through no fault of his own. This is one of the reasons I am not too concerned about our 3rd WR. Romo will make them better.
I agree. Part of the issue with Jax was they would not give the QB any protection. I think Gabbert has a chance to develop into a pretty good QB but they will have to do better in terms of giving him time.
Not at all.
I've always liked him and was thankful to have him last year. And I'm sure he was even more thankful to have Romo as a QB, as it made him millions.
He'll be fine (not great) in Jax. They really upgraded that WR corps.
They now have:
and a very good TE in Mercedes Lewis.
all to go with MJD
David Garrard must be scratching his head after all of those years of nobody to throw to. Soon as he's gone they load up. lol
I'm sure Gabbert is happy.
