This will instantly turn Felix Jones into Devin Hester. All we need is the new Flux Capacitor special teams playbook that the good special teams coaches use.

Please, folks. The guy knows special teams. He was working with a bunch of draft misses.

We did a lot of questionable stuff while he was here that had nothing to do with what happened after the ball was snapped.

I don't know if it was Garrett's decision or his on a lot of that stuff but somebody was screwing stuff up.

    Exactly...

Players low on talent equals poor play. The Bears will have a better special teams unit than the Cowboys in '13 more than likely.

what does talent have to do with blocked punts and 12 men on the field?

Feh. He never impressed me. His directional kicking nonsense was maddening.

I won't miss him. The only time I want to see him again is in the audience at a tennis match.

Don't forget, it was Joe D that went running up to Garrett, screaming for a TO at the end of the Arizona game, which led to the infamous "iced his own kicker" incident. Sure, Garrett shouldn't have listened to him, but he had a hand in all that as well.

So, a special teams coach leaves one team and uproots his family to go to another team in the same role?

    A lateral move.

    Interesting.

I know that DeCamillis is friends with the current Bears GM but I still find the lateral move interesting to say the least.

I do too. I sincerely doubt that the Bears are paying that much more than Jerry. They're notoriously cheap.

People can gloss over this all they want.

But I see one of the main coaches on this team jump ship for a lateral move a week after the DC was fired over the phone, and I see trouble.

He was trying to leave last year too for a lateral move to Oakland but the team blocked him.

    Guy just wanted out.

    Guys, think neck injury.

That played a part in his desire to leave.

Wow, just saw this. Now who coaches ST's? Should we be worried?

What would his neck injury have to do with his desire to leave?

Maybe he doesn't like how things played out since then. Does it matter why really? He's gone and we're looking for a new ST Coach. I have already postulated who I think it will be and I am anxious to see if I am right.

Espn 103.3 mentioned Hoffman and bobby April today as potential candidates.

    They both seem so young......

Ad of course Hoffman would be mentioned right? I guess once u have a job here u always do.

    So sad.
