No, he's going to use it to nationalize all the letter "c" 's in the world! And when they're done with that, they'll run the Death Panels.

    This proves something? :lmao:

Yep! I can't wait til 2012 either to get these socialist pukes out of my white house. And in 2010 to get their henchmen out of my Congress!

Honestly, if that is all you have, it's gonna be a blood bath in 2010.

The military already has this capability, its called Civil Affairs teams. They are equiped to handle civilian situations as well as being able to defend themselves. I don't buy the explaination that everyone is trying to provide for Obama.

Well then, they are obviously trying to expand that capability.

Then expand it via the military, civilians have no place on the battlefield. If you can't shoot, move, and communicate, what good are you? Hell the CA guys are even airborne qualified. There is no need for a "civilian security force" (not the word security), infact there are strict rules that dictate who is allowed to carry weapons on the battlefield. Remember that beloved Geneva convention that Dems love to tout.

So do you suggest they continue to hire mercs that the military seeminly has no control over. Hire large contracting firms to do terrible over priced jobs instead of the Army Corp Engineers that should be doing it or have the same contractors doing jobs that prevent med or medical units could be doing?

I mean for all of the civilians (G) we have...why are we still hiring outside companies to do the work that many in the Military are already trained to do...if we already have enough as is.

    Just something to think about.

I have a lot of dealings with the Army Corp. of Engineers and they are every bit as incompetent and overpriced as their civilian counterparts.

The fact is we don't have enough military personnel to do all of the jobs which we hire contractors for. If you don't want to hire "mercs" like blackwater, then don't put civilians on the battlefield as that is who is going to end up providing security for them. Large contracting firms actually do provide excellent service to the military and provide immediate surge capabilities that the government can't do. It takes the government 6 months to a year to hire someone, the contracting fims can have an experienced person in place in 2 weeks.

Speaking as someone who has been with the DOD for 25 years I have yet to see a contractor do any job better or cheaper then the government employees that used to do it.

Iraq is the natural progression that was started in the early 70's by Congress. In a war zone you have military and you have non military. Guess which worked better in Iraq?

I think its funny that old issues pop up every so often on some blog or whatever and get everyone all riled up over things that have been discussed numerous times before.

I think I can remember 2 major threads that this single quote struck up a while back.

Heres a post from way back.
