While they didn't trade for Dewayne Robertson, the Cincinnati Bengals upgraded their defensive line today by signing free-agent end Antwan Odom to a five-year, $29.5 million contract.

The 26-year-old Odom is coming off his best NFL season, having recorded eight sacks last year with Tennessee. The Bengals were in the market for a new end after losing Justin Smith in free agency to San Francisco.

Odom canceled a scheduled visit to Minnesota

Actually I'm kinda glad Minnesota didn't get this guy.

That is a lot of money for a guy that still has a lot to prove. His 8 sacks seemed to be more a product of the pressure that Haynesworth and Vanden Bosch were creating than anything he did.

Even still he's a solid upgrade from Justin Smith.
