"So you're tellin' me there's a chance?"
Waters is one of the least injured players of all time in NFL. Jones should let him play through it, he would still be are best guard injured.
Please let there be a chance , we na na na need WATERS !!!!!!!!!
In all, Waters should be the decider. It's his arm and only he knows what he can or can not do
It is interesting they have not moved him to IR yet. But they have shown a lot of "hope" like this before...most recently with Spencer.
But, in his case, it may not be simply season-ending, but career-ending.
Doubt he wants it to end like this so he'll give it his best shot.
(Fingers and toes crossed!)
My worst nightmare is him going to IR and Arkin coming back to the 53-man roster.
Then I know the season is truly over.
Oh yeah, we do!
Right, this could be Waters last season let him go out the way he wants to, playing football. Hey Arkin should be out in front of the stadium working the grill on a tailgate party, that's where Arkin belongs.
It's good for Garrett.
Another wow he was 8-8 despite the injuries.
Never understood last season - Garrett got a pass because of all the defensive injuries but the defensive coordinator didn't.
“There’s probably nobody on who works harder over the fire and is more committed to grilling than David Arkin. He’s the right kind of guy to man the coals and he's working at it and he's getting better."
It still can. Only we wouldn't get Waters back till week 17 or possibly the wild card round. So he'd be back just in time if we make the playoffs. If we don't make the playoffs... still no loss. Still better to use it on a probowl caliber starter than for a no-name backup that probably won't be in the league in 2 years.
We already used the "return option" IR on Edgar Jones.
Let him rest until the last couple weeks of season get him ready for playoffs .
Guess you didn't read this whole novel (aka thread)?
Yeah, I know that. Read the last sentence in my post that you quoted.
If we got all 14 picks, we would just use them on TE and WR, plus maybe a player or two with a history of injuries.
You are correct. Sorry about that. Just trying to go through a few posts quickly during lunch.
So if he is IRd he gets paid a lot less than if he stays on the roster and tries to heal, right?
Not saying that is his motive - i think he really wants to play - but that is the effect.
We can't waste a spot on the 53 and cap money on a guy who MAY play if we MAYBE make the playoffs.
We don't have the IR-return spot open and we can't go with only 52 on an already crappy roster
After all, grilling is a process.
No he gets the full amount of his deal I believe.
Ok so if money isn't a factor and we don't IR him we basically play with 52 the rest of the season in the hopes a 37 year old can recover from 3 injuries to play a hypothetical playoff game.
No thanks. Cut loss time. It was another Jerrah gamble that came up snake eyes.
