Could Mike Williams be a possible answer for the Dallas Cowboys' third wide receiver vacancy?

The Seattle Seahawks have released wide receiver Mike Williams. The Dallas Cowboys have to fill their third wide receiver position.

    Hmm.

This is a situation to watch very closely. Williams is a wide receiver that makes much more sense than rookie Josh Gordon, whom Dallas was interested in during the supplemental draft. The price was too high for Gordon, with the Cleveland Browns giving up a second-round pick in 2013 for him. However, the Cowboys were reportedly willing to part with a midrange draft pick for Gordon. Twitter conversations indicated Dallas may have graded Gordon as a second-round talent, but still saw too much risk to go that high (the feeling was Dallas would have put in a third-round bid).

Tricky. Bringing in a vet pushes out a promising younger player. You'd have to be Romo, Orton, and the WR coach to make that decision.

If seattle doesn't want him why exactly would the Cowboys? Real sketchy backgound for that guy.

Umm, he has one leg and can't pass a physical.

Although him and Jenkins can practice together. One can't run and the other can't hit. :laugh1:

Let's just trade Coakley and a 3rd for (or 2nd if we have to) for Wes Welker bc he wants a new contract anyway!

Every time a retread vet comes available this question is posed.
Can we please at least see what we have with our half dozen young prospects?

I was hooting and hollering for us to draft Mike Williams back in 2004. I remember it was draft day, and I was in Epcot Center. I had my cousin call me every time a pick was made.

I really wanted the next Michael Irvin !!!

I was in the American Center at Epcot when my cousin called and said Williams was taken by Detroit. I think I yelled out OH FUDGE way too loud.

We've all had epic mistakes in judgement. Nice to see someone admit it.

While he certainly wasted some opportunity he did make the best of the Seattle situation. Not sure if last year was on the Seattle QBs or him or both. You'd have to interview his position coach then work him out. I don't think he's worth the trouble.
