Jenkins is due 1M dollars this year. That is a lot of money to you and I. But not much to someone who THINKS he can make more. So for him it is worth the risk to put out minimal effort this year...with the HOPES that someone will offer him a big payday down the road based on PAST performance. All it takes is one team to think Jenkins is worth more than Dallas thinks he is worth. So it is a gamble Jenkins is willing to take. And he does not have to play all year to qualify as a free agent next year. Joey Galloway did it in Seattle. And he found a team willing to take a bet on him. That would be your Dallas Cowboys ladies and gentleman. We traded 2 first round picks for him AND made him a rich man. A team like the Redskins...who have an aging DeAngelo Hall and nothing else at CB...Jenkins could look very appetizing for them. And respect has to always be factored in. I believe Martellus Bennet took either the same deal or less to prove to the Giants he is worthy of a big payday down the road. Jenkins might be willing to do that for someone else next year. But he risked his career for Dallas last year...and Dallas is not rewarding him for that. Again, I am not saying Dallas is wrong per se...I am just trying to put myself in Jenkins shoes.
