I am going to Chicago for the first time in June and I decided to take a serious look at chartering a boat and taking the kids fishing on Lake Michigan. I've done a ton of fishing over the years, but it has all been salt-water which leaves me a little uncertain about what to expect. Has anyone done any fishing on the Great Lakes? If so, I would appreciate some input on what may be the best experience, especially for my two kids.

If not, well, happy Monday all the same!

I never been there, but try to find a head boat. Much cheaper than a charter.

Head boats are not much fun unless you like elbow to elbow fishing with multiple line tangles.

This may be the only time I get the opportunity to go out up there and do this, so I want to go all in! Charter is a must! :)

A day fishing with your kids is a great day for them and you. Good job on being a father.
