    Pretty cheap.

Really wish Dallas would have gotten in on him.

C is a big time need and he's one of the best.

If we go defense in the 1st I imagine we will draft Konz in the 2nd.

I wonder if people actually consider that players might want to stay on a team that they've played for, or have a particular team that they want to play for?

That's a bargain.. he should fire his agent.

Probably just gave Houston a hometown discount.

6 Million/year is not cheap for a 31 year old center. Plain and simple.

Take a look at what some other Centers are making:

Ryan Kalil: 6 years/49 million, with 28 guaranteed, signed last year.

Nick Mangold's contract is 7 years/55 mill. Jason Brown got 5 yrs/37.5 mill. in 2009.

Myers is regarded as one of the few elite centers in the game. It's a good deal especially when you take into consideration how inflated contracts are becoming.

    Ryan Kalil is 26

    Nick Mangold is 28

    Chris Myers is 31

You just don't pay for age.

He's 30, but he only has 5 seasons worth of tread on the tires.

He was a 24 year old rookie. He can easily play at a high level for the duration of that contract.

Compared to what other contracts have been going for?

And for the best C in football?

I guess when you see a guy who grades out in the 50s year-in and year-out get 4M per year, 6M per year doesn't seem like a bad amount for a guy like Myers.

The best C in football? Not a chance. That beast resides in New York.

I guess I should have said highest graded C from 2011.

    My bad.

If I say, "one of the best" does that change much?

    From a previous post:

    31 is not old for a C.

Many Cs play well past 31.

4 of the highest graded Cs from last year were 35 or older.

The average age of ALL centers who had a positive grade from last year (18 Cs) is almost 30.5

Most Cs are late 20s, pressing 30.

Phil Costa at the age of 25 was the 3rd youngest C in the league last year who played 50% of the snaps, getting nudged from #2 by 4 months.

Hell, people are advocating for Blake and he's 2 years older than Costa.

So you sign him to a rookie contract and let him walk afterward because he's gonna 31?
