I have been thumbing through the TV channels and ran across Pale Rider and Unforgiven . It brought to mind a quesion that all men should have an opinion on . Are you a Clint Eastwood man or a John Wayne man ? I have to go with Clint myself . He has made so many great movies . The Outlaw Josey Wales is a classic . Give me your opinion .

Clint Eastwood is a far better actor than John Wayne ever was.

John Wayne. The rest are pretenders and even Clint would admit that. It is over 30 years since he died and he still is voted in the top 3 favorite actors. The Duke is royalty.

Clint Eastwood all the way. He played lots of bad guys, semi-bad guys, semi-good guys, and good guys. Did John Wayne play anything but good guys? I don't know because when I was a kid his movies seemed kind of boring.

I'm strictly talking the movies they both made and I prefer Clint Eastwood over John Wayne.

JW struck me as an arrogant SOB.

Read Captain America's post about him this week. Every person I have spoken to who met him say different.

I'm referring to the roles he played in the movies....I would imagine he was a nice guy in real life as most older actors are...

i just honestly find him 1 dimensional.

i think sean connery is 1 dimensional also.

to me some of the best actors of our time would be be tom hanks, jeff bridges and christopher walken - although as much as i love walken he can be 1 dimensional also.

Clint is just so much more well rounded that it's hard to side against him.

There's no wrong answer, but I prefer Eastwood. Duke seemed to be out of his element when he wasn't playing a soldier or cowboy.

I think Clint has as many good lines as any actor ever and I think he pulled them off as only he can .
"Go ahead , make my day ."
" Buzzards gotta eat , same as worms ."
And many more . He owned these lines .
