Trivia: What is this and what does it have to do with the Cowboys?
Tom Landry had it hanging in his office.
Interested to hear more about it, I NR. If this had a specific connection to the Cowboys it would make it that much more special.
Close but that's not quite right.
Couldn't wait, I googled it. Sorry!
A caricature of Dean Blandino's grandfather?
Jerry Jones owns an original of this Rockwell piece, and imagines that it's the Cowboys versus the 49ers in this painting.
Norman Rockwell is awesome.
Looking at the faces in that painting, you can tell it was made a long, long time ago.
Jerry Jones owns the original, that is true. But he actually bought it right after he had bought the Cowboys when he was flat broke (as Jerry himself tells it), on the recommendation of Ross Perot, who collects Norman Rockwell paintings. Jones had to "scrape together" a million or so to buy it. It has supposedly been appraised at $18M.
Ive always gotten a sense of nostalgia looking at his paintings. Good stuff.
Yes he is, Cal. A treasure.
It was on the cover of the October 21, 1950, issue of the Saturday Evening Post.
OMG. Rockwell was so awful
Ref looks fat.
If his hat were on backwards, I'd swear it was Romo.
Visit a real museum or two. If you still enjoy that, there is no hope.
I thought the title of this thread was about our chances of winning it all this year. Glad it was about the painting.
