    They can shield it with a splint and tape it to the other finger. How he catches and holds onto the ball is another story.

    That's good news. I would think that's a much better alternative than ligament damage.

    Right. A broken bone can be dealt with. Ligament damage however would cost him the season.

    On First Take this morning they were saying that Jerry left it up to Dez if he plays or not.

    If they are right, then you are right, because there's no way Dez voluntarily sits. He'll find a whole new level of appreciation from his teammates and the fan base if he performs well when given the option not to play.
