on D i'd say
If an OLB is drafted at 14 , I hope that it is Ingram . Upshaw has Dallas written all over him IMO though . This is the type of player that Cowboy scouts seem to like . I would not be surprised in the last bit and I don't think this is a smokescreen .
I would hardly get worried. It's way to damn early. Half the players in the top 32 right now will be 2nd round picks come draft day. Way too much shuffling to do still.
I'm not crazy about any pass rusher or CB at #14, other than Coples or Claiborne. My preference would be to trade down for another second rounder. Depending a lot on the combine and trying to be realistic...
1. Chase Minnifield (CB)
2. Brandon Washington (OG)
2. Shea McClellin (OLB)
3. Brandon Boykin (CB)
4. Phillip Blake (C)
Bam. This is it right here.
Wes bunting said that right now dre Kirkpatrick is the cowboys top player. He also said they are very high on Melvin Ingram and DeCastro.
If we draft Kirkpatrick I hope they move him to FS, and the way he plays I think he can be a great FS.
The way I hear it last year Dallas had Aldon Smith over Tyron Smith and would have taken Aldon if he was there. I think that proves Jerry ranks OLB higher than OL
I just hope he values talent. Give me a great OL over a good OLB any day.
That wouldn't prove a thing. All that would mean is the scouting department had a higher grade on him. It means nothing about positional preference.
That's the logical conclusion.
I like Upshaw a lot. He's built like Lamar Woodly. Did anybody see that tackle he made in the NC game when he contained and went through the block to make the tackle? Awesome.
This guy plays nasty. We need nasty.
I also like the DE from LSU also....can't remember his name, skinny kid. He is going to be a force as an OLB IMO.
What we need are players improving the weakest positions on the club...
SSOLB wasn't one of the weakest positions.
we need SOMEONE that the Offense will fear as regards the pass rush; the best teams have two;Giants and a couple others have three. We have one. Either a DE or OLB that makes the O plan for them and have to account for them
Mikey's corner crazy. Always has been. He cries for a 6-pack of corners every offseason.
Another edge rusher would have twice the impact on this defense than any player you'd put in the secondary. So would a real NT. Or a disruptive DE.
I would agree if there were another impact edge pass-rusher out there.
I think a disruptive DE is an easier find.
i agree w you..but at 14, those options APPEAR to be limited...
Brockers of LSU might be an option at DE. The kid has got some serious physical skills and plays hard.
I hope they get heart broken then.
I'd rather have the best punter than the best cb
