Vandy CB Casey Hayward has visited Patriots, Titans, Falcons and Cowboys, according to a source, working out for Falcons and Cowboys.

Seems like more of a cover 2, zone corner. Lots of INT's though, something we need more of from our DBs.

    Can't argue with his production.

I really, really hope we draft Jamell Fleming in the 2nd or 3rd round. A real physical, man coverage type guy. Please, Jerry!!

If he is signed you gotta wonder what effect it could have on the Cowboys Draft.

Just the fact that Hayward is visiting becomes very intruiging when trying to predict the upcomming event.

He's definitely a 3rd round option. I really think Jamell Fleming is a better fit though.

When looking beyond the 2nd round the varibles become emense.

So if Hayward is a 3rd round guy, could he transition to FS?

He may be too short IMO for safety. He isn't really known for his tackling ability either.

He is a really good player. He stood out on an undermanned team. I think he could play safety or corner. I like Fleming too. He is a physical guy at 205 with exceptional quickness to play man. If we do some trade back stuff in the 1st or 2nd and end up with both of these guys in the last 10 picks of the 2nd or 1st half of the 3rd then our secondary will have improved greatly and 1 of the 2 would likely be a cheaper option than Jenkins in the long term.

Who was it that was telling me to watch for him to gain our interest? Nice tip, sorry I am forgetting who it was.

In the Arkansas game alone, he should have had 3 interceptions. I really like him. He makes a lot of plays on the ball, to deflect or intercept it.

He is my 2nd favorite mid round CB after Boykin

In reading guys like Josh Norris and others, my perception of Hayward is that he's a zone corner only, really isn't all that athletic, and will be limited. Kind of a decent 4th or 5th round option, but doesn't seem like what we're looking for based on scouting reports so it's curious that we seem so interested.

yeah I'm high on Fleming but not at 45. I want OG in the 2nd because I think thats where you get the best value for OG in this draft. Zeitler, Silatolu, and Brooks are day one starters and all to good to pass on at 45. I have them rated above any other 2nd round rated player right now.

he had 7 interceptions last year. He could have added 3 more in that arkansas game. The point is he makes a lot of plays on the ball, whether he picks it off or not. And 7 picks in the SEC is pretty good.
