Now that that is done... FIX THE LINE! FIX THE LINE! FIX THE LINE! or adjust in game play calling (but since that isn't happening)

Highest paid player in Cowboys history is meaningless; even in a favorable contract for the Cowboys, that would've been true.

But if the $55 mil guaranteed is true, then wow. Romo got way the better end of this deal (not that this should surprise anyone).

The market for Qb's keeps going up and up. In 3 years time Romo will probably be the 10th or 11th highest paid QB. Deal is Fine.

Amen. Great point. Haters don't let the door hit you on the way out. Time to support him.

Not a Romo hater but his post season resume plus his choke job against Waahington just doesn't validate this contract.

Oh we'll. live by the Romo and die by the Romo.

Yes, this will be worth it only if we give Romo the OL protection he needs.

And then years after he's gone, we'll still be dying by the Romo. What a terrible deal.

Glad its done. Now, need to wait and see what this does to the cap, reduction wise. And is the last couple of years voidable and hopefully structured to help the team.
Remember how every one thought Brady was the great man for taking less - untill it all came out that he will see all his money. Lets wait and see how Tony's deal works for the cowboys over the life of the contract... But im happy its done - drinks on Tony !!!

I didn't think it would get that high.

Interesting to see the breakdown of it.

6 year 108 is a good deal for both sides. The reported 55 mill guaranteed is likely more like 30 mill guaranteed and and 25 mill guaranteed for injury.

This is a good day for the team. Romo will be a Cowboy for the rest of his career.

Let's hope we don't have too many people flying of the handle before we get the details.

    Some points to consider:

    1) 6 year deal. This is an illusion, just like all the other deals of this sort are illusions. It's most likely a disguised 4 year deal, with lower salaries in the early years that inflate in years 5 and 6.... just like his last deal. Odds are he won't see those years without a restructure of some sort.

    2) Highest paid in Cowboys history. This is another blurb that sounds like it matters but it doesn't. First off, salaries are always going up, so there is always be a new "highest paid in history". It's meaningless. Secondly, he's a QB, of course he should be highly paid, and rightfully supplants Ware. Was anyone screaming that Ware was at one point the highest paid? Its just he way these things work.

    3) 55 Mil guaranteed. OK, so that sounds like a a lot, but let's say he only plays out 3 years. That's less that the 20M per year franchise tag and comes in below Flacco and Brees. If he plays 4 years, it's significantly less.

Let's see what the specifics are before rueing.

Stafford and Ryan are smiling right now.

With the Flacco and Romo deals done, this should be easy for the agents.
