What do you think fans?
Haven't we seen this thread before? Anyways no way you draft Newton because we already have Romo and Newton would just sit on the bench for 5+ years. We need to use our pick to help the secondary.
It's not time to draft a franchise QB yet, although this may probably be our best chance. The stars aren't aligning for a 1st round QB selection, too many other holes but I do like Cam as a prospect.
Crazy idea. That's what I think.
You're going to spend a top 5 or 6 pick based solely on need?
depends how the draft plays out.........I'm never opposed to taking any player at any position if he's the best option.
I'd like to think that it'll be a long while before the Cowboys have such a good draft position again, but I wouldn't bet on it.
We already have some outstanding WR prospects.
Newton has the potential to become a very good qb, but we simply have way too many other needs to try to draft a qb that early. Even people who aren't big Romo fans would have to agree that we need DB's, OL, DL, much more than we need a QB right now.
I think some NFL GMs will look at how Tebow has played in his first 2 starts, and that'll help Newton move up some draft boards.
I doubt Dallas has to worry about drafting him if they're picking 6. I'd wager by draft day, some team falls in love with him and he goes in the top 5.
No but I hope someone thinks he's worthy of a top 6 pick. We desperately need 2 teams to fall in love with Cam Newton and Ryan Mallett so that we have a legit chance at the biggest difference maker in the draft.
IMO, the best case scenerio would be a team paying a premium to exchange number 1's with Jerry ... and Jerry using the pick on a top OL prospect
no they shouldnt cos he'll be rubbish in the NFL
are you Cam's DAD
In Jerry we trust. We'll be back in the top 10 before you know it.
I don't think we'll be selecting around 7th for a while, but with this team, it wouldn't surprise me.
