Don't care if they "approve". If he is a ST value, fine. Great.

But this "viable option to Bruce Carter" nonsense is hilarious and over the top.

Well, since we now have the unmovable force in McClain, the versatility and disruption of Mincey and now the possible viable option to Bruce Carter, we can just shut it down and wait for the draft.

    Spaulding, turn out the light.

Isnt it embarrassing while the rest of the league is signing players we know, We are out there signing scrubs like McLain, Mincey and now Herring, players no one has ever heard of. couldnt we have waited another week or so to do this?

He's not a backup per se. He's a ST's captain and likely McCray's replacement. Perhaps they think he could be a spot starter. At 6-3 and 235-240 and able to play OLB and S then he could play some special packages, too.

If he does not start on defense, he is a backup and ST player. I am fine with the signing. But do not try to sell me on the idea he is some undiscovered gem that is a "viable option" to Bruce Carter. Don't make me laugh, my lips are chapped.

I don't know what I like best-people complaining about over spending on FA's or underspending on FA's. Seems like these low cost FA's don't provide enough whining ammo while the larger signings like Carr can be complained about for years. We need to franchise tag a kicker or something.

I find it interesting we picked these guys. Now it may be incompetence or it might be one or more are capable of playing a role on the team. I guess we'll find out.

Please list all of these great finds. Laren Robinson. Selvie was nice. Think that sums it up.

So far the 2014 free agency period looks a lot like the great special teams draft of 09!

I am not too worried about the fact that most fans do not know them. More worried about the fact that they really are limited upside players who are what they are.

Now where the heck did I say all that. Never mentioned viable option to Bruce Carter. He's not an undiscovered gem coming into what his eighth year either.

Repeat after me.....ST's player and spot starter perhaps. Reading is your friend.

Maybe he can play joker in spec packages.

Nope, they are doing free agent the right way. There isn't much of a track record in signing big names. The embarassing part is the roster that was already assembled.

Ware creates $7M in cap room. So we are going to go out and sign 7 scrubby players (3 down, 4 to go) at $1M a pop and they will get coached up.

McClain - 4th team in 5 years, 12 career starts. Cut two times in career.
Mincey - 4th team in 8 years, 40 career starts. Cut three times in career.
Herring - 3rd team in 8 years, 10 career starts. Cut one time in career.

    We are killing it!!!!
