It would be amazing if Wannstedt got another NFL coordinator job after all the failures on his resume over the last 20 years. He's like the Nicholas Cage of coaches.

I'm fine with either system. The thing that I don't like about the 3-4 is when the coordinators rush 3 and drop 8 into coverage.

Either system will work though. I'm affraid Wares career gets a little shortened in a 4-3 though.

Especially over the phone when he is on vacation.

And as a 3-4 OLB there's at least the chance for an element of surprise.

Ware and Spencer are better suited at 3-4 OLBs then they are as 4-3 DE's. Plain and simple.

Check the numbers, Catch. About 95% of the time we did that under Ryan we were NOT in a 3-4. We were in a Nickel/Dime defense.

We'll go to a 43 to protect our LBs and let them make plays instead of being injuried.

AMEN! No question, he is/was my favorite position coach on this team. Those LBs played great and were the one of the strongest parts of the team.

He helped make Sean Lee a bonafide stud, Bruce Carter a force, and Anthony Spencer one of the soon-to-be highest paid LBs in the league. In between, he put guys off the street into the defense and made them contributors. I would hate to see him leave, and I am afraid he will.

I would hope so. I'd hope that a DC could have a say in who he has to work with. You now...NOT the Jerry-way.

I say forget the 3-4 and 4-3 talk, hire the best guy and let HIM decide which scheme best suits are existing and incoming talent. Get the best out of who we have, too much time is spent banging pieces into misshapen holes...

Again, the front doesn't matter to me. Good players can play any scheme. I just want to see a good defense. I would prefer to see Garrett find a perfect fit to help turn things around.

Wow. I dont know if this is good or bad. This is not the shake up I imagined, and cant say if I am happy or sad, but I surely am scared. Guess well see how this shakes out. I can only hope it results in a ferocious defense next year or soon there after.

I just want TO's. it's really that simple for me.

Lovie preaches those, but if somebody can get those I don't care who the coach is. Would love to have Greg Williams but don't think that would go over well.

Agreed IR. Eberflus is the only coach I would tell that he can't leave for another job until he meets with the new DC.
