IRVING — With multiple TV cameras in their face this week in the locker room, Dallas Cowboys players have been asked over and over again about what the Giants’ secret is to their success at Cowboys Stadium … uh, AT&T Stadium.

The Giants are 4-0 playing at Cowboys owner Jerry Jones’ $1.2 billion stadium since it opened in Arlington in 2009.

Quarterback Tony Romo took his turn Wednesday, and he tried to rally the Cowboys’ fans.
“Obviously they’ve done a good job recently playing at the stadium. More than anything, we need to make sure that we create a home-field advantage,” Romo said. “Our fans have done a great job. We need them to be at their best on Sunday night. When they are, they’re very tough to deal with here in Dallas. I expect them to be like that on Sunday, and I think that will help us gain a big advantage if we get that.”

It helps the fans to not fall behind 23-0 in the first half. In fact we fell way behind early in most of our home games last season. That said I think fans are a little extra fired up this year and if the team comes out ready to roll it will snowball from there.

It would be nice if we finally could get a home field advantage.

Give us a reason to cheer. No slow starts. Get off the field on 3rd down. etc..

Any fan who says, "I'll wait for the Cowboys to start winning before I'll cheer or shout loudly to create home-field advantage" is the definition of a fairweather fan.

Exactly. I recall every single start at home, was a very slow start and we were trailing. Especially the Skins, Bears and Giants game. Saints also jumped right out the gate and drove right down our throats for a lead. The start of the Browns game was horrendous as well as the Buccs (I was at this one in person and it was dead)

You can't moan about the fans when they give us nothing to cheer about. Nothing more demoralizing than not getting off the field on 3rd downs, trailing early and sluggish offense. All 3 happened constantly last year.

Ummmm no. Not even close. The crowd always starts out fine. But when you get your butts beat all over the field to start the game, it's only human nature to not be as excited anymore.

Actually, home field is overrated anyways. Many players are on record to saying they like playing on the road more, especially playoff time. No pressures at all and they love showing out against the visiting crowd.

Won't happen unless we make the playoffs.

That's when Cowboy fans come alive.

I hate being the only one standing up hollering in my section and getting verbally abused to sit down because they cant see the game from the comfortable position in their chairs.

It's mind boggling that this fan base can't even generate an acceptable level of noise let alone a solid home field advantage. It's crucial to success for a team that is good but not great (a team like the 2013 Dallas Cowboys).

I was at the game vs Giants last year. It was pretty loud until Romo three the game away. During the comeback we were loud again. Romo just needs to do his job and the fans will handle the rest. When dez caught that pass at the end my ears were bleeding.

And that was with a half full stadium. I was my most awesome moment at the stadium so far, just too bad it was overturned.

Um, no. I was at the Chiefs/Cowboys game in 2009 (will be there again this year) and the Chiefs fans were quiet all game. Those around me were talking about not drinking because they had to work early the next day and telling me how bad their team sucked.

Same thing happened at the Packers/Cowboys game on SNF in 2008. Packers fans started bailing after the 3rd quarter, also talking about having to work the next day.

Which is a shame honestly, because even when the Seahawks stunk, their fans still managed to bring the noise every week.

Like I said in another thread, the Cowboys need to establish a winning tradition at home NOW. Finally beating the Giants at AT&T could be the ignition they need.

People are just so tired of sloppy football and become disinterested really quick.

People need a reason to believe again.

It seems like the team and the fans are all just waiting around for something bad to happen.

This orginzation needs its confidence back more than anything at this point.

Chiefs manage, obviously. So do the Browns fans.
That said, I traveled out to DAL for the home WAS game the first year the stadium opened, and it was plenty loud, then. And that game was, like 7-6 or whatever it ended up being. Not a lot to cheer for.

They had games under herm Edwards at the end with about 25000 people in the stadium. They are not the gold standard by any stretch.

I am telling all of you right now, no questions asked the stadium is going to be great this year.

The east games are always great and the rest of the schedule will bring a ton of energy.

The only game that I think will be lethargic is the rams game because most people do not respect the rams and its at noon.

Their is a good vine around the team right now. Dez is going to bring out that crappy front running fan who makes a lot of noise.

If we get to 2-0 then beat the rams, regardless of the sd outcome the redskins Sunday night game is going to be on a short list of great games I think.

Now if these jerks could stop selling their tickets for a profit that would be great.

I won't lie, the couple next to me didn't get up all game. They were a young couple and we were nosebleeds. I'm like, why are you even here? Smh
