Guess you choose to ignore what pretty much is the universal thought among NFL people...Romo is good, just isn't great and he's prone to making mistakes at key times. All these excuses are just that....excuses....Brady has a bunch of third string wr's, Rodgers oline is horrific, doesn't matter who is Eli's wr's, on and on....but Romo always seems to have an excuse. It's baloney.

Simple way to calculate is count " one thousand 1" , " one thousand two"

Thats very close to a second each time.

Watched Brady in the last game and did this. Ball comes out in about 2 seconds .

Also, his line gives him a relatively clean pocket/lane to throw through.

Also, Ron Jaworski ( not a big fan of his) has stated that any NFL QB should
complete 60% of his passes given 2.5 seconds to release a pass.

This of course assumes a clean pocket, etc.

Nice job words in my mouth. Never said Romo was the only one fighting these issues just simply stating they are there and you can't just blame alone for the Cowboys struggles. Again Romo has a very quick release, but its very difficult or release the ball in a second or two yet somehow he manages to do that most of the time. I'm not sure if you played quarterback or not (I didn't either, but I have been a pass rusher), but when you have guys consistently hitting you because you're not getting protection mistakes are gonna happen.

    1. Unlike NE, we do not call many short routes over the middle.
    2. We do not have small shifty WR to run in the middle.
    3. We call many plays that takes TOO LONG to develop.
    4. Romo likes big plays.
    5. Our OL sucks.
    6. Maybe our OC isn't very good either.

Ummm....he was barely touched last game. He threw five picks. Rodgers got sacked eight times in a half, not one turnover. I have become a lot less frustrated lately with the team because I have concluded what pretty much everyone outside of Cowboy fandom has--Romo is top half in the league, but just isn't as the elite or even next tier qb we hoped he was.

I actually do keep track of time when I watch games. Especially when I don't watch the Cowboys I notice how fast some of the other QBs get the ball out quick.

I've always been a proponent of our team making plays faster or giving Romo more time to complete some passes - like a bootleg or play action. However, it seems that Garrett doesn't call a lot of those types of plays while the entire NFL seems to gotten a clue and use is quite a bit.

Romo is terrific when it comes to avoiding sacks and pressures so obviously the hits won't show up in the stat sheet because he avoids them, but there is no question that he is getting pressure in his face consistently. When you get pressure in your face on a consistent basis, you rush throws, and then the turnovers start to pile up. Romo has to get better certainly, but so does the offensive line. I'm not sure how they can get better though. They're simply not that good.

Rodgers and Ryan both get alot of pressure in their faces and they find ways to win and play efficiently. Hell, Rodgers has a 97.0 passer rating and all you hear him talk about is how he needs to play alot better.

So why can't Tony play more efficiently? Not like he isn't used to facing pressure by now.

Getting used to pressure. Think about that for a minute.

Getting used to being hit without warning.

By very large guys going full speed.

I call BS on ANYONE getting used to that without their game going down hill.

On the contrary.. he's hit very little compared to the rest of the QB's around the league. Maybe middle of the pack at best? Like some said, he's very good at sensing pressure and avoiding the rush.

They track QB hits.. he's around the middle of the pack.

    No glasses required.

    Scratch that, burm.

"Was" middle of the pack. Now, with the bye, the only QB's who have been hit less than Romo are Eli and Josh Freeman.

The Pats use small, quick guys to beat the big, fast Defenses in today's NFL.
