IRVING, Texas -- Rookie Dan Bailey has made 14 straight field goals since missing a 21-yarder in Week 2 against San Francisco. Overall, he's 15 of 16.

David Buehler knows Bailey has an iron grip on place-kicking duties right now. After missing the last three games with a strained groin, he just wants to get back quickly and resume kicking off....

...Buehler began kicking lightly last week and said his workout went well on Monday. He hopes to be ready for Sunday against St. Louis.

Get him out of here. Waste of a roster spot.

I think we should go with 1 kicker but I'm not mad at Buehler. Frankly not mad at anyone just because I see this differently than the organization does. If Buehler remains I hope he goes out and does the job he is being asked to do. Clearly kickoffs and long distance FG are the 2 things he does well.

I think you're giving him credit for 1 1/2 more things than I do.

For a 'kickoff specialist', it wasn't like his kickoffs this year were all that great either.

Like many others, I think we should be happy we have found our true kicker and move on from Buehler.

As I said if it were my call we would go with Bailey and use Buehler roster spot for another position player. Evidently Garrett has other ideas so being open minded you look at where Buehler strength is. He will put more kicks deep in the endzone than Bailey and his FG percentage from over 50 yards is actually amongst the tops in the NFL.

I should also say I’m not one who thinks my idea’s are the only one out there so I’m willing to accept the call being made by Garrett and hope it plays out as he envisions.

I think this move is similar to prepositioned lockers with ammunitions and replacement items in a theatre for war, before it actually breaks out. Control of field position and limiting an opponents opportunity to explode with big plays comes to the front about December into January...and he would be a valid weapon then.

Not only does Dallas waste a roster spot on a worthless, kickoff specialist, the town feels the need to waste time and ink on him too.

I'd rather have Bailey work on his directional kicking and DeCamillis getting the coverage unit to be top-notch. With the new rule, a good coverage unit + good directional kicking > being able to kick it out of the endzone. Pin the returner at the 1 and force him to take it out so the coverage can take him down inside the 15.

I assume your kidding. As bad as his 30 to 45 yard kicks have been his kicks of over 50 yards ranks high. If we are in a situation of needing a 58 yarder who would you send out Bailey or Buehler?

seems to be the plan Dallas has been using and it has worked. Thus far I like what I see in the coverage teams. Guys are staying in their lanes and getting down field quickly

I would not do anything that could alter the psyche/confidence of Bailey.
