Is he too highly paid to not start? Rob: His contract (four years, $11 million) doesn't guarantee he'll start, but his absence throughout the offseason workouts probably eliminates center as an option. He has never played it in a game; the focus should be working him in at right guard, where I still think he's the probable starter. Josh: Bernadeau doesn't make so much that he absolutely has to start. And being the swing guy, a game day backup at all three interior line positions, is not a meaningless role. The Cowboys will surely give Bernadeau a fair chance to win the job, but you can expect a little bit of rust after he's missed all offseason. You've got to wonder what kind of shape he'll be in as well. But keep an eye on Leary.
