Murray's Rise Part Of Collective Efficiency
    Rob Phillips Staff Writer

IRVING, Texas – None of this is really foreign to DeMarco Murray – the cameras, the national spotlight. He played at Oklahoma, one of the country's most prestigious programs and essentially the closest thing the Sooner State has to a pro football team year in, year out.

Murray is now the talk of the Dallas Cowboys' recent resurgence: three wins in four games with possibly their first three-game win streak of the 2011 season coming this Sunday at Washington (3-6).

He deserves every bit of the attention. His 601 rushing yards in four games are the highest total ever for a Cowboys back in that span – more than Emmitt, Dorsett, Herschel and Don Perkins. Yet the humble rookie tailback is the first to say the offense's balanced efficiency in this recent stretch has come "collectively as a unit."

He's exactly right. That's no slight to the Cowboys' third-round draft pick, who has earned a heavy workload even with a healthy and returning Felix Jones. This is exactly what head coach Jason Garrett wants in an offense: one that can attack in many different ways....
