IRVING, Texas -- As of late Wednesday afternoon, the Cowboys were still awaiting MRI results on rookie offensive tackle Tyron Smith's injured knee. Early indications and reports were a hyperextension, but no official prognosis has been made yet.

One report stated Smith could miss 2-4 weeks. The Cowboys, however, currently still appear to have hope that Smith might be available for Sunday's opener against the Jets. He was officially listed as "limited" on the team's practice report.

Man, I hope Tyron is o.k.

I'll trade 2 weeks for him being o.k.

if it is only two games we can survive; that will mean Witten staying in to help Parnell full time. Against the jets it will be ugly; but the 49rs are manageable

Luckily it's a 16 game season. I didn't like our odds much this week anyway--and if we now must keep Witten (our best mismatch) in to help, well, it is much worse still.

    Never say never though.
