Let's try that out and see, shall we?
This makes me laugh. You honestly think the Cowboys cut Ware then realized they don't have a contingency plan? Really? I know most of us think Jerry is an idiot but comon' man.
He would be my hero if he did that. At least there would be accountability.
So what is the contingency plan to replace him? There are 15 teams ahead of us in the draft. Surely we have it all figured out though, right?
What was said after Ware was cut is probably true. The plan is to replace him with journeymen, thinking that three perennial bench warmers can get those six sacks. Wish it were as easy as simple math and counting QB traps.
It's got Jimmy Johnson written all over it ;-)
20 years later... Jerry, "I got an idea, let's go "depth" on defense this year"
Jerry had a plan in 2009, too. I hope I'm proven wrong, but hoping that five separate visits fall through for Hatcher doesn't seem like a good plan to me.
So are we done for the most part? Are we out on Woodyard?
Doubt we're done, but I don't think we're looking at any big names.
I actually don't mind this approach. Promotes team play over star power... but I mean, it'd be nice to have 1 star on that line.
Not only does it not matter, it's wrong. Mincey isn't the only Cowboys with SB experience. Cornerback Sterling Moore and guard Brian Waters (though now a free agent) played in Super Bowls with the Patriots.
