    If you own a Dell laptop and want to find of if your battery is one of the bad ones go here https://www.dellbatteryprogram.com/Identify.aspx and enter your serial number.

    btw It's not just a Dell issue. Dell buys the batteries from the same place as IBM, HP, etc....

    EDIT: If you have one of the models, power down, take out your battery, and enter your PPID in the website Yeager provided.
