Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo played Sunday at San Francisco with a fractured rib and a small puncture of his lung. After the game, Romo said he’d be able to play in the Cowboys’ home opener against Washington on Monday Night Football.

But owner Jerry Jones is not so sure. Jones said Tuesday morning on his weekly KRLD-FM radio show that he doesn’t know whether Romo will be able to play against the Redskins. Jones said the decision would come down to whether Romo could manage the pain or not.

Asked if Romo will be able to play against the Redskins on Monday night, Jones said, “I don’t know. I really don’t. I understand the nature of the injury as much as you can without being in medicine. We’ll just have to see how it goes. It has everything to do with just his ability to handle the pain, and we know he has a bunch of it.”
