    The Cowboys will have to trim their bloated payroll to slip below the league-mandated salary ceiling by the March 11 deadline. And the team has already begun making cost-cutting moves as they have decided they will release defensive end Everette Brown, according to a source.

    Brown was signed last October and played in seven games for the Cowboys, collecting five tackles and one sack.
