    Plenty of 'born leaders' carried pads and participated in those rookie hazings.

    I don't agree with making a guy pay $55k or any money for that matter. That's not what that stuff is supposed to be about. It's about teaching a little bit of humility, showing respect to those that have actually made the team and hopefully that building team comradarie.

    If you don't like somebody doing something like having to carry another player's pads, then we should get rid of the rookie helmets that do not have a star on them because it's the same thing. Unfortunately, we had no leaders...particularly in the head coach, that didn't step in and put a stop to him having to spend $55k for dinner.
