There appears to be one record Jerry Jones' record-breaking football stadium won't be able to break.

The National Football League official in charge of the Super Bowl said he doesn't expect Cowboys Stadium to set the attendance record for that championship game in February. Team and local host committee officials have previously mentioned they were hoping for a record crowd, which they believed was possible at the world's largest domed stadium. The 1980 NFL championship drew a crowd of 103,985 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif. – a crowd the Cowboys surpassed in the team's regular-season debut last year.

Frank Supovitz, NFL executive vice president of special events, said there are no plans for a six-figure attendance at the Super Bowl – a number that some media observers assumed was a done deal.
"In terms of seating inside the stadium, I'm not expecting that it'll be over 100,000," said Supovitz after a news conference at the State Fair of Texas. "It won't beat the record."

Have a Dallas - Pittsburgh, Dallas - New England, Green Bay - Indianapolis, or Green Bay - Ravens SB and we'll see.

Any one of those matchups would have a shot.

If it's a Dallas vs. "whoever" Super Bowl, then Jerry will set the attendance record for all sports in history.

It's got nothing to do with the matchup - the stadium will sell out for the SB no matter who's playing. It's all about how the powers that be choose to configure the stadium for the SB.

Soccer probably has that title, unfortunately.

    Those stadiums are ridiculous.

Yeah, I think North Korea holds the record on that one. Something insane like 150,000. Of course half their population is starving so it's really only the size of Texas Stadium.
