The Cowboys hoped this would be a quiet off-season for Dez Bryant.
It hasn't gotten off to a good start.

Bryant got into a verbal altercation at a Miami nightclub Sunday evening. Officials with the Cowboys and Bryant stress that no arrest was made and no charges were filed.

"We are aware of media inquiries only and have heard of no documented reports from authorities,'' said Rich Dalrymple, the club's vice president of public relations.

Specifics are vague since it appears the incident did not rise to the level that a report needed to be filed. It's unclear if police were even called to the scene.

Wow can I be in the news I got into a verbal altercation with punk at a bar for some comments he made abut my wife. While we hold athletes to "higher" standards stuff like this happens at every club in the country every night and sometimes twice in a night. I know, I know its surprising but it is true.

That's really the issue. I have to tell my son, who is an athlete, that he has to watch himself because he has more to lose than some nucklehead who doesn't have the responsibilities that he does.

Dez has to understand that he's a millionaire and an athlete with talent to go places. He simply CANNOT act like everyone else, especially if it only means somebody is talking trash to him.

Precisely. And bravo to you for stressing something like this to your son.

Cue the people who say he lacks a father figure like you.

Which explains why Staubach, White, Aikman and Romo got into trouble in bars. Oh wait.

Read Walt Garrison book, it was pretty common place at one time. :laugh2: However those days are gone and we live in a media driven 24 hour news cycle. Players have to be smarter than the players of old.

So first we get a topic with people saying he was arrested due to the headline of the news report only to find out he wasn't even arrested at all simply detained.

Then we found out from Calvin Watkins that not only was he not arrested but he was never even detained.

Now it's unclear if the police were even called at all?

Yeah because no black players ever go out without getting into any trouble.

    Oh, wait, except they do.
