Noticed this as well.
Is Stukes still with the team?
I'm not passing judgement, since I don't really track the progress of ST coaches. However, didn't the Chargers have a horror show for ST the last couple of years? I seem to remember multiple blocked punts and TD returns against them?
Can anyone expand?
EDIT-Did a quick search and found this referencing some problems.
Give me a break.... Jeesh .... I was being a little tongue in cheek.. Don't take stuff so literal ... Of course I would hope a person wouldn't decide on his career future based on fandom...
I'd say "curbing chaos" is an excellent description of what a ST coach tries to accomplish. :laugh2:
I guess the proof I'm searching for is that everyone doesn't immediately drop to the turf and start spinning in circles alla 3 stooges.
Forgive me, who?
The SD Special Teams were atrocious - as in, historically bad - in 2010 (which is when the linked article is from). Bisaccia showed up in 2011.
In 2010, they gave up four punt/KO returns for TDs. They had four (4!) punts blocked. The Football Outsiders metrics have them as the worst unit by a huge margin over the period from 2003-2012.
Last year, FO had them ranked 8th. No return TDs, but they did still have 3 punts blocked. Huh. No punts blocked in '11. Anyway, seems like a solid coaching performance.
They win and lose games for you. No big deal.
The Gruden love fest on this board is sickening.
I know I saw him on the sideline earlier in the season. He was ST coach with Tampa and then moved on to Dallas.
Didn't know if he was still with the team and possibly could be interviews for the position.
In our case the "special" teams.
