IRVING, Texas -- Unless Jon Kitna gets hurt, Stephen McGee will spend the rest of the season standing on the sideline.

Jerry Jones and Jason Garrett are committed to doing everything possible to win games the rest of this disappointing season. That doesn’t mean playing a second-year quarterback. McGee’s development isn’t a priority.

The problem with that is the Cowboys need to evaluate McGee to determine whether they should use a draft pick on another developmental quarterback. Some in the organization felt McGee should be on the roster bubble after training camp, but he’s come on strong since September.

Heaven forbid we try to evaluate some of our young players at the end of this disastrous season.

Meh. I'd rather see them earn their way into starting spots like Lee did.

I don't agree with evaluating a guy to see if he can be your backup QB. That's the type of thing you do in the offseason.

McGee will not start next year or the year after. He's a backup (at very best) as long as Romo is on the roster.

Wouldn't be a bad move if Dallas is looking to get a higher draft pick but other than that it doesn't do a lot for anyone.

    Say what?

There are a few young players that should be playing, this is the perfect time, season over, and you can evaluate them in true game conditions.

And the earn their time comment above yours is also a little silly.. IMHO.
